A group of fairies (a gaggle of fairies? a flock of fairies?) found me today and told me I could ask for a boon in return for my support of the Seelie king and queen. When I said I was not sure that they had my support, the fairies grew very agitated indeed. Then one of them pointed out I had rescued his cousin from a Lackamercyme, and surely that counted as supporting the monarchs, since I was protecting their people.
I have to admit, I hadn't given that a great deal of thought. But of course I will protect those that I can and... well, I did say I would help.
But I wasn't comfortable asking for anything that was not rightfully mine. I was told I couldn't ask to go home, or ask for anyone to come here, or to request another's true love or devotion (and a jolly good thing too, I should think). There was a third one, but what was it - something about bending space and time to my will.
I asked for my bow and horn, and my armor if it wasn't too much trouble. I have looked through the armory, and it is very fine, but these things are mine. It's hard to imagine being 'Queen Susan' without them. I will feel better once they are here, if my request is granted.
I shouldn't wonder that the king and queen can bring through things from another world. After all... they brought through me.
